Car wing mount

I had no trailer available to get the wings from the temporarily storage to my workshop. So I decided to transport them on top of my car.

Styrofoam sheet

I used 100 mm (4 inch) thick styrofoam to cut out the wing mounts.

Hot wire foam cutting

Styrofoam is easy to cut using a hot wire. I tied a rope to the workshop ceiling, attached the steal wire to it and a weight at the other end (and yes - this is our good garden table ;-). Power was supplied via two crocodile clips. Two 6V batteries in parallel provided power.

atop the car roof

The whole thing was mounted onto the roof carrier. Tension belts secured wing and holders.

Ready to Go

Prepared like this I drove the 35 km to the Container ...

Rear View

... and 35 km back home.

Front View

It might look weird but worked like charm. Surprisingly the wing was not in the drivers sight: everything stayed behind the rear mirror.
