M4Data - environmental controll modul :

The first project, which I have done for the ERA-Technology during my engineer training, has been, to develop a environmental control module for the use in data recorders. The special problem has been the cost for the module, which has later been produced in series. 

The M4Data module can measure humidity, temperature and air flow. It presents the result on a LCD display or via RS232 on a PC. It can be controlled with a keypad or a PC.

A PIC16C73 SMD device is populated on the just 30 x 40mm size PCB.

For measuring the air flow a cheep thermistor has been used, which is current controlled and switched on for the airflow measurement (heated). 

This module work well and present, with just 10 Pounds costs, a very cheap system. 

A PC demonstration program has been written for showing, how to read and control the module. 

After finishing the M4Data project, I did develop a Profibus compatible high temperature infrared thermometer.
